Panorama is a noteworthy alternative camera application designed specifically for photo stitching, effectively addressing the common issue of curvature in horizontal edges found in traditional photography. The application offers a unique capability to create rectangular panoramas, which combines both vertical and horizontal stitching techniques.

The 'Build View' feature functions as a versatile stitcher for arbitrary groups of photos with overlapping regions, allowing for both horizontal and vertical stitching. Users can select the 'Build Vertical' option, which rotates the input images by 90 degrees to the left and then processes the result by rotating it back 90 degrees to the right, accommodating stitched images that are aligned left to right.

A rectangular panorama utilizes both horizontal and vertical stitching, enabling the creation of two vertically registered panoramas that can subsequently be merged into a horizontally registered panorama or vice versa. Accurate alignment of photographs is essential for successful registration.

The camera view incorporates an overlay of the previously captured image, facilitating precise alignment of subsequent shots. This feature is crucial for achieving high-quality registration during the stitching process.

 <li>Image Review: Captured photographs are automatically organized in a sliding pocket drawer, allowing for easy review and retake.</li>
 <li>Gallery Integration: Finished panoramas are saved to both the app’s gallery and optionally to the Photos library, where they can be resumed or edited at any time.</li>
 <li>Location Data: Panoramas include location data, which can be viewed on a map within the gallery for contextual reference.</li>
 <li>Background Functionality: The app can operate in the background while users engage with other applications, providing notifications once stitching is complete.</li>
